Kamen Rider Agito

Kamen Rider Agito (仮面ライダーアギト, Kamen Raidā Agito, "Masked Rider AGITΩ" or "Masked Rider Agito") is the second main Kamen Rider in the Heisei era, and the titular protagonist of Kamen Rider Agito. He is an example of a typical Agito, an evolution of humankind brought on by the possession of the power of Agito. He transforms using the Altering and rides the Machine Tornador.

These are bearers of the name "Kamen Rider Agito", and are thus fully-fledged Kamen Riders:

Those Agito resemble the bearers of the Kamen Rider Agito name, but aren't classified as such. They may be classified as Monsters.

Forms[]

Agito's power manifests as the Altering, an esoteric belt enabling transformation into his various forms. Agito and his kind possess limitless potential for evolution, demonstrated as he develops increasingly powerful forms. Two buttons on the waistband of the Altering control Agito's transformations, both being utilized in his initial transformation and evolutions, and singular buttons accessing his specialized Storm and Flame forms.

Ground Form (グランドフォーム, Gurando Fōmu) is Agito's standard form and the typical form of an Agito. Unarmed in this form, Agito uses crushing blows and physical techniques to fight his opponents. Ground Form is the most balanced of Agito's forms.

Kamen Rider Agito has the following parts:

  • Head (頭部, Tōbu): The helmet.
    • Compound Eyes (コンパウンドアイズ, Konpaundo Aizu): It has a field of view of 200 degrees up and down and 225 degrees left and right. It can also detect human faces from 10km away. In addition to being able to see through a 5m thick steel wall, it also has a starlight mode (スターライトモード, sutāraito mōdo) that emits light to illuminate dark areas.
    • Cross Horn (クロスホーン, Kurosu Hōn): The golden horn. It is a sensory organ that control vision, smell and hearing. It also releases excess energy to prevent accidental self-destruction. It opens up when executing the rider kick finishing attack.
    • Master's Orb (マスターズ・オーヴ, Masutāzu Ōvu): A stone composed of almost the same material as the “Philosopher's Stone”. Located between the Cross Horn. It allows Agito to remotely communicate with the Machine Tornador.
    • Enhanced Ear (エンハンスドイヤー, Enhansudo Iyā): Audio devices located to the sides of the head. They boast a sensitivity several tens of times higher than normal human hearing and the sensitivity is adjusted for high volume sounds.
    • Crusher (クラッシャー, Kurasshā): The 'mouth area'. A phantom sound is emitted from between the armor plates, resulting in sharp fangs that cut through the steel.
    • Hard Shell Helm (ハードシェルヘルム, Hādo Sheru Herumu): Overall 'head armor', and the sturdiest part of the body. It protects the brain from any shock.
  • Wiseman Monolith (ワイズマンモノリス, Waizuman Monorisu): A stone located at the center of the armor/chest. It is a symbol of Kamen Rider Agito and efficiently supplies and circulates the “force” generated by the Altering.
  • Power Shell Armor (パワーシェルアーマー, Pawā Sheru Āmā): The 'chestplate'. It is a reinforced exoskeleton with 5 times the hardness of the Armored Skin. In addition, the golden parts of the chest and abdomen are called Gold Chest (ゴールドチェスト, Gōrudo Chesuto), where the whole body's strengthening muscles are evenly distributed.
  • Armored Skin (アーマードスキン, Āmādo Sukin): The 'bodysuit'. It is armored skin that wraps around the whole body. It has both flexible elasticity and diamond-like hardness.
  • Shoulder Arms Shield (ショルダーアームズシールド, Shorudā Āmuzu Shīrudo): Armor protecting the shoulders. It can also be used as a sharp blade, and is effective for a shoulder tackle (ショルダータックル, shorudā takkuru) attack.
  • Arm Block Shield (アームブロックシールド, Āmu Burokku Shīrudo): The forearm armor that protects Agito's arms when fighting against enemies. Its hardness is 10 times harder than that of Armored Skin.
  • Hammer Shell Grab (ハンマーシェルグラブ, Hanmā Sheru Gurabu): The hands. It is a strengthened skeleton that protects the fist. Agito concentrates power to his fists when releasing a punch.
  • Knee Armored Shell (ニーアーマードシェル, Nī Āmādo Sheru): The knees. The shock received at the feet is released outside the body.
  • Shock Silver (ショックシルバー, Shokku Shirubā): The silver parts on the legs. It sends the impact absorbed by the Fair Anklet to the Knee Armored Shell.
  • Fair Anklet (フェア・アンクレット, Fea Ankuretto): The golden ankle armor. It is a reinforced exoskeleton that absorbs received energy and protects the ankle joint.
  • Toe Armor (トゥアーマー, To~u Āmā): The feet. It is armored skin that has a double layer structure. It is super hard as it is a part that releases tremendous energy during Rider Kick (ライダーキック, Raidā Kikku) attacks.

When Agito's power reaches its peak, the Cross Horns (クロスホーン, Kurosu Hōn) crest on his head open, pushing all of Agito's capabilities to their fullest. Agito is then able to perform a variety of finishing techniques.

  • Rider Kick (ライダーキック, Raidā Kikku): By channeling power into his legs, Agito is able to execute a jumping kick of incredible raw power.
  • Rider Brake (ライダーブレイク, Raidā Bureiku): Agito uses the Machine Tornador's momentum to launch himself and perform a strengthened version of his Rider Kick.
  • Dragon Breath (ドラゴンブレス, Doragon Buresu): While riding the Machine Tornador in its Slider Mode, Agito rams the Machine Tornador into the enemy.
  • Rider Punch (ライダーパンチ, Raidā Panchi): Agito executes a powerful punch attack to the enemy.

Storm Form (ストームフォーム, Sutōmu Fōmu) is Agito's agile form, accessed by pressing only the left-hand pad of the Altering. This form harnesses the power of wind through Agito's left arm and grants Agito increased agility and reflexes. However, Storm Form is by far the weakest of Agito's forms in terms of power and strength.

This form also equips Agito with the Storm Halberd, a pole arm armed with extending blades on both ends, or a double bladed staff.

Storm form adds/changes the following parts:

  • Storm Chest (ストームチェスト, Sutōmu Chesuto): The chest armor changes color from gold to blue due to the power of the Dragon's Eye. It generates wind energy and enhances running and jumping power.
  • Cobalt Generator (コバルトジェネレーター, Kobaruto Jenerētā): The base of the left arm, the Power of Wind is stored here. The power generated by the Dragon's Eye is transmitted by the Wiseman's Monolith and amplified.
  • Power Gold (パワーゴールド, Pawā Gōrudo): The gold plate on the shoulder pad. In addition to serving as a shield to protect the shoulders, it also accumulates “Alter Force” emitted from the "Philosopher's Stone”. However, compared to Agito Flame Form, the area is smaller because of the less power generated.
  • Storm Arms (ストームアームズ, Sutōmu Āmuzu): The air taken into the body is instantly converted into wind energy which is then sent to the Naginata-shaped weapon Storm Halberd.
  • Arm Block Shield (アームブロックシールド, Āmu Burokku Shīrudo): Adjustments are made so it is not affected by the wind.
  • Cyclone Knuckle (サイクロンナックル, Saikuron'Nakkuru): A fist that controls the wind, and freely manipulates the Naginata-shaped weapon Storm Halberd. In addition, the generated wind can be controlled at will to create storms. The destructive power of the left arm is stronger than the right arm.

Storm Form has two finishers.

  • Halberd Spin (ハルバードスピン, Harubādo Supin): Has two variations.
    • Agito creates a powerful vortex by twirling the open Storm Halberd at rapid speeds, before he slashing the enemy mutiple times.
    • Agito creates a powerful vortex by twirling the open Storm Halberd at rapid speeds, before he runs and finish off to the enemy with single slash.
  • Halberd Brake (ハルバードブレイク, Harbādo Bureiku): While riding the Machine Tornador, Agito uses the Machine Tornador's momentum to launch himself and perform a strengthened version of his Halberd Spin.

Flame Form (フレイムフォーム, Fureimu Fōmu) is Agito's attack-focused form, accessed by pressing only the right-hand pad of the Altering. This form harnesses the power of flame through Agito's right arm and grants Agito increased punching power and reflexes. However, its jump height and running speed are lower than both Ground Form and Storm Form.

Flame Form also equips Agito with the Flame Saber, a sword with crests similar Agito's own on its hilt, which open when Agito is at full power.

Flame form adds/changes the following parts:

  • Flame Chest (フレイムチェスト, Fureimu Chesuto): The chest armor changes color from gold to red due to the power of the Dragon's Eye.
  • Crimson Generator (クリムゾンジェネレーター, Kurimuzon Jenerētā): The base of the right arm, the power of flame is stored here. The power generated by the Dragon's Eye is transmitted by the Wiseman's Monolith and amplified.
  • Power Gold (パワーゴールド, Pawā Gōrudo): The gold plate on the shoulder pad. In addition to serving as a shield to protect the shoulders, it also accumulates “Alter Force” emitted from the "Philosopher's Stone”. Compared to Agito Storm Form, the area is larger due to more power being generated.

Its lethality is further increased when all 6 "Saber Horns" are opened, similar to Agito's own horns, this finisher would literally reduce an adversary to ashes.

Trinity Form (トリニティフォーム, Toriniti Fōmu) is Agito's upgrade form accessed when Shoichi Tsugami briefly recovered his memory. It combines the powers and strengths of Ground Form, Storm Form, and Flame Form. In this form, Agito can wield both the Storm Halberd and the Flame Saber, as well as execute their respective finishing attacks.

When Shoichi once again loses his memory, the power of the Trinity Form was lost. However, he would eventually regain his memories permanently and is now able to access this form once again, as seen in Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider: Kamen Rider Taisen and Kamen Rider Zi-O.

Trinity Form has two finishers.

  • Rider Shoot (ライダーシュート, Raidā Shūto): Agito delievers a powerful drop kick attack infused with the powers of Storm and Flame Form.
  • Fire Storm Attack (ファイヤーストームアタック, Faiyā Sutōmu Atakku): Has two variations.

Burning Form (バーニングフォーム, Bāningu Fōmu) is Agito's super form, first accessed when Shoichi learns to channel his fighting spirit into power. Its incredible power is difficult to control and damages the body, incapacitating Shoichi before he mastered it. Burning Form amplifies and translates Agito's fury into power. Thus, Burning Form's power increases as Agito becomes more enraged. Burning Form is also shown to be able to produce jets of flame to attack the enemy. Burning Form's punching power is greater than any of Agito's previous forms, and its kicking power is equal to Trinity Form. However, its jumping height and running speed are the lowest of all of Agito's forms.

Burning Form equips Agito with the Shining Caliber (シャイニングカリバー, Shainingu Karibā), which he wields in its Single Mode (シングルモード, Shinguru Mōdo), a dual-blade sword.

Burning form has the following parts:

  • Compound Eyes (コンパウンドアイズ, Konpaundo Aizu): Agito has 3 times the visual acuity of Ground Form and can identify a human face standing 30km away.
  • Burning Chest (バーニングチェスト, Bāningu Chesuto): Armor to suppress the power of the flame that burns throughout the upper body. The veins that can be seen all over the body are gathered near the Wiseman Monolith on the chest, so that self-destruction caused by internal energy is suppressed.
  • Arm Attack Shield (アームアタックシールド, Āmu Atakku Shīrudo): Part of the reinforced skeleton to protect the wrists. It absorbs the tremendous impact caused by the "Burning Rider Punch".
  • Arms Cutter (アームズカッター, Āmuzu Kattā): The sharp blades on the left and right forearms. They are strong enough to cut steel plates with a thickness of 30 cm.
  • Burning Arm (バーニングアーム, Bāningu Āmu): A fist that is always hot. To release the “Burning Rider Punch”, the energy of the flame power is concentrated here.
  • Burning Leg (バーニングレッグ, Bāningu Reggu): Red and strengthened leg. When executing the "Burning Rider Punch", the power of the whole body is supported and it plays an important role as a spring.
  • Toe Armor (トゥアーマー, To~u Āmā): Red toe armor. The tremendous impact and surplus energy generated by executing the "Burning Rider Punch" are released from here.

Shining Form (シャイニングフォーム, Shainingu Fōmu) is Agito's final form, awoken when Agito mastered the power of Burning Form and saw the light of the sun. Although Shining Form's punching power is decreased compared to Burning Form, all of Agito's other stats are heightened, making Shining Form Agito's most powerful form.

Like Burning Form, Shining Form equips Agito with Shining Caliber. However, he wields it in its Twin Mode (ツインモード, Tsuin Mōdo), separating it into a pair of twin swords.

Shining form has the following parts:

  • Compound Eyes (コンパウンドアイズ, Konpaundo Aizu): Agito Has 3.5 times the visual acuity of Ground Form and can identify a human face standing 35km away.
  • Cross Horn (クロスホーン, Kurosu Hōn): The function is the same as Agito Ground Form, but it is always opened and demonstrates Agito's full power.
  • Enhanced Ear (エンハンスドイヤー, Enhansudo Iyā): Boasts a hearing ability to hear whispering voices 35km away.
  • Power Shell Armor (パワーシェルアーマー, Pawā Sheru Āmā): Silver armor covering the chest. It receives the power supplied from the Wiseman Monolith and evenly distributes it throughout the body to strengthen the muscles.
  • Wiseman's Monolith (ワイズマンモノリス, Waizuman Monorisu): The "force" generated from the Altering is supplied and circulated throughout the body. The monolith changes from black to yellow, and a symbol emerges on the stone.
  • Arm Block Shield (アームブロックシールド, Āmu Burokku Shīrudo): Armor made of three armor plates. In addition to protecting the lower arm, it can also be used as a small shield.
  • Hammer Shell Grab (ハンマーシェルグラブ, Hanmā Sheru Gurabu): Power is around 15 tons, more than double compared to Agito Ground Form.

Shining Form has three finishers.

  • Shining Rider Kick (シャイニングライダーキック, Shainingu Raidā Kikku): A stronger version of Ground Form's Rider Kick that launches Agito forward at extreme speeds through a large energy-formed Agito crest mid-air.     • During the final battle, Agito summoned up to two crests lined up together to be used in the attack. This finisher is named as Strengthened Shining Rider Kick (強化シャイニングライダーキック, Kyōka Shainingu Raidā Kikku):
  • In Movie War 2010, it was shown that Shining Form can also perform the Shining Rider Punch (シャイニングラライダーパンチ, Shainingu Raidā Panchi), a haymaker punch that covered in white flash energy.
  • Shining Clash (シャイニングクラッシュ, Shainingu Kurasshu): With the Shining Caliber Twin Mode, Agito can charges the Shining Caliber with white energy and performed a powerful Rider Slash.
    • Agito delievers simultaneous slashes to the enemy. When this version is performed, the background will turns into a pure white area.
    • Agito delievers two poweful slashes to the enemy, before he stabs and pulling out the Shining Caliber from enemy's body. He then finish off the enemy with final slash.

After the transformation, Maguchi becomes Mirage Agito. Visually, he resembles a white colored Kamen Rider Agito Shining Form with an extended left horn, a blade attached to his right arm, and a small cape extending from his left shoulder. This form boasts extraordinary physical prowess, enough to overwhelm Agito Shining Form and Exceed Gills.

This form is exclusive to S.I.C. Hero Saga Kamen Rider Agito Edition: Heaven's Door.

Ever since Kamen Rider Decade, Kamen Riders' arsenals have featured an assortment of Legend Rider-based collectible devices, including many for Agito.

The Rider Cards used by Decade to access the power of past Kamen Riders include an array of Agito-based cards for different forms and functions.

  • KamenRide: Agito (カメンライド・アギト, Kamenraido Agito): Transforms Decade into Agito Ground Form. Can also be used by Diend to summon Agito.

  • Agito's name is sometimes spelled "AGITΩ", which can be seen in the series' main logo along with other promotional material.
    • Notably, the S.I.C. Hero Saga side story Kamen Rider Agito: Heaven's Door has a chapter entitled "The Alpha and the Omega" (ΑにしてΩ, Arufa ni shite Omega). This confirms "AGITΩ" as being spelled using the Greek letters alpha (A) and omega (Ω), which are the first and the last letters of the Greek alphabet respectively. This is befitting considering the nature of Agito over the course of the series, to either begin a new age of humanity, or to mark the end of humanity itself.
  • Kamen Rider Agito is the first Heisei Kamen Rider who can't transform into his Final Form on his own; he needs sunlight to power up from Burning Form to Shining Form.
  • Although Kamen Rider Agito is the "perfect" form of an Agito user, he doesn't display any psychokinetic/telekinetic abilities like others developing the power of Agito. The only ability he displays besides transforming is the ability to feel the presence of the Lords when they are attacking or nearby.
  • Trinity Form made appearances in only two episodes and never used again in the TV series. This was reportedly due to difficulties faced by suit actor Seiji Takaiwa, who struggled with the stiffness in the shoulders and the weight of holding the heavy weapon props. Takaiwa admitted that he would not wear the Trinity Form suit again.[14] In subsequent appearances of Agito Trinity, the suit actors would either not perform such intense actions, or hold both Storm Halberd and Flame Saber for too long to reduce burden on the suit actor.
