Inazuman (イナズマン) is a hero from one of Shotaro Ishinomori's other works. Inazuman has a cameo in OOO, Den-O, All Riders: Let's Go Kamen Riders where he teams up with Kikaider, Kikaider 01 and Zubat to destroy General Shadow as he attempted to escape from the riders.

The Inazuman who appears in Movie War Ultimatum is one of several recent movie-exclusive antagonists who are based on protagonists from tokusatsu series made by Kamen Rider Series creator Shotaro Ishinomori, complete with a modernized costume redesign. Other examples include the Akumaizer trio, based on the protagonists of Shotaro Ishinomori's Akumaizer 3, who also appear in Movie War Ultimatum, and the Space Ironmen, based on the protagonists of Ishinomori's Space Ironmen Kyodain, who appeared in Kamen Rider Fourze The Movie: Everyone! Let's Feel the Universe! (August 4th 2012).

While OOO, Den-O, All Riders: Let's Go Kamen Riders primarily commemorated the 40th anniversary of the Kamen Rider Series, the film also marked the 60th Anniversary of the Toei Company and to commemorate it, the film featured characters from other works of Shotaro Ishinomori: Kikaider, Kikaider 01, Inazuman, and Zubat.

Portrayal[]

In his appearance in OOO, Den-O, All Riders: Let's Go Kamen Riders, Inazuman was voiced by Hideo Ishikawa in place of his original actor, Daisuke Ban.

In this brief appearance, Kikaider's suit actor was Kazuya Okada.

Origin[]

Inazuman originated in the tokusatsu superhero TV series of the same name. It was produced by Toei Company Ltd. and broadcast on NET (now TV Asahi) from October 2, 1973 to March 26, 1974, around the same time as Kikaider 01, Kamen Rider V3 then the earlier episodes of Kamen Rider X, with a total of 25 episodes. The series starred Daisuke Ban (as "Naoya Ban") of Kikaider fame in the title role. Inazuman continued in the sequel series, Inazuman Flash (イナズマンF(フラッシュ), Inazuman Furasshu) was produced by Toei Company Ltd. and broadcast on NET (now TV Asahi) from April 9, 1974 to September 24, 1974, during the run of Kamen Rider X, with a total of 23 episodes. Inazuman also appeared in a manga adaptation and later appeared in an anime crossover with Kikaider in the early 2000s.

Legacy[]

  • The Movie Shin Kamen Rider Official Visual Book also noted that inspiration of the pre-masked Ichiro Midorikawa during transformation was taken from the character Inazuman, another hero created by Shotaro Ishinomori who also features a blue butterfly motif. However, the design of the completed Kamen Rider No. 0 wasn't.[1]
